Anstory 1.0.7
Bug, Bonnie, Beth and Maurice now speak 11 languages, and they finally sound like themselves in all of them.
Five new languages
Anstory is now available in Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish, Indonesian, Italian and Polish, as well as English, German, Spanish, French, Korean and Ukrainian. Pick your flag in Settings → Language.
"Por que tanta pressa? Calma..." · "Neden bu kadar acelecisin, sakin ol..." · "Czemu tak pędzisz? Spokojnie..."
That's Maurice in Portuguese, Turkish and Polish, telling you to slow down. Some things don't need translating.
Bug is no longer a beetle
When we first translated the game, we used machine translation, and it showed. "Bug" is our bear's name, but in German he became a Käfer (beetle), in Spanish a bicho, in Korean an insect, and in French a bedbug. One line in French said "the carrot looks worried". It was supposed to say "Bug looks worried".
For this update we went through every line of the story, every catch phrase and every button in all the languages and rewrote them by hand: the right names, friendly "you" instead of formal, "To be continued" instead of "Continue", and puns that work in each language. Honey in German is now Honigtastisch.
Smaller and quicker
The game is a smaller download and starts faster, and the question about ad privacy now appears once the game has loaded, so it responds right away even on slower phones and on PC.
Also on PC
You can play Anstory on a Windows PC with the Google Play Games app: the same game, played with the mouse. (Progress stays on each device; it isn't shared between your phone and PC.)
Speak one of our languages and spot something odd? Tell us at hello@anstorygame.com. We'd love the help.
