Privacy policy

Effective 2 November 2026

This policy explains what data the Anstory game for Android ("the game") and the website anstorygame.com ("the site") use, why, and the choices you have. Anstory is made by LittleDeveloper ("we", "us"). If you have any questions, email hello@anstorygame.com.

In short: you don't need an account, we don't ask for your name, email or contacts, and we don't sell your data. The game shows optional ads through Unity's ad services, and Unity's services back up your game progress.

The game

Stored on your phone

The game saves your progress (coins, scores, unlocked chapters and characters), your settings (sound, language, frame rate) and your ad privacy choice on your device. This stays on your phone and is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data.

Game progress backup (Unity Gaming Services)

When the game starts, it signs in anonymously to Unity Gaming Services (Unity Authentication and Unity Cloud Save, provided by Unity Technologies). This creates a random player ID that isn't linked to your name, email or Google account, and stores a copy of your game progress with it. We use it only to keep your progress safe and to run the game.

Ads (Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads)

The game is free. It shows ads only when you choose to watch one, for example for an extra life or double coins. Ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay and its ad networks, including Unity Ads. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, these partners may collect:

  • your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers
  • device information such as model, operating system, language and screen size
  • your IP address and the approximate location derived from it
  • how you interact with ads (views, clicks, completions)
  • basic technical and crash data about the ad session

When you first open the game, we ask whether our ad partners may use data from your device to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you choose Don't allow, you will still see ads, but they won't be personalised. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Ad privacy. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your phone).

Google Play

The game is downloaded and updated through Google Play, which processes data under Google's privacy policy.

The website

anstorygame.com doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Our short links (for example anstorygame.com/tt) count how many times each link is opened per day, so we can see which social network people come from. We store only the daily count, nothing about you. They then send you to Google Play with a tag naming the network.

Trailers on the site are YouTube videos. They load only when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. After that, Google's privacy policy applies.

Who we share data with

We don't sell or rent personal data. Data is processed only by the service providers named above, for the purposes described:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

  • Personalised ads: turn them on or off in Settings → Ad privacy.
  • Delete local data: uninstall the game, or clear its data in your phone's app settings.
  • Delete the progress backup: email us and we will help. Because the player ID is anonymous, we can't look you up by name or email. Once you uninstall the game, the backup is no longer linked to your device.
  • Access, correction and objection: depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.

How long we keep data

Data on your phone is kept until you delete the game. The progress backup is kept while the game is in use and deleted on request. Ad partners keep data according to their own policies.

Security

All data the game and the site send is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use the protections our providers offer.

Children

Anstory is suitable for all ages, but it isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. The game tells our ad partners that it isn't child-directed. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
